Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by the educational game media Quizizz on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students in the Informatics subject at SMP Negeri 7 Muara Bungo. The background of this research is based on the low student learning outcomes, which are caused by the lack of active engagement in the learning process and the use of less attractive media that do not utilize technology aligned with students’ characteristics.This research uses a true experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes: the experimental class, which was taught using the PBL model with Quizizz, and the control class, which was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through a learning outcome test (posttest) in the form of multiple-choice questions.The analysis showed that the average posttest score of the control class was 62,67, while the experimental class scored 83,24. Based on the Mann-Whitney U test, a significance value of 0.002 (p < 0.05) was obtained, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, the PBL model assisted by Quizizz is proven to significantly improve student learning outcomes in the Informatics subject.
