This research was motivated by the condition of male volleyball athletes at Club Oryza, who were directed to increase their leg muscle explosiveness, but had not yet received a structured training program. This study aimed to determine the effect of squat jump and lunge training on increasing the leg muscle explosiveness of Club Oryza volleyball athletes.This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of 40 athletes, while a sample of 20 athletes was selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of 16–20 years old who actively participated in training and were ready to compete. The research instrument was a vertical jump test administered before and after the squat jump and lunge training program.The results of the study showed that the pre-test value of explosive leg muscle power had an average of 43.1 with the dominant category of "Poor", while the post-test results increased to an average of 73.3 with the majority of athletes in the "Very Good" category. The t-test produced a calculated t-value of 10.415, which is greater than the critical t-table value of 1.7291 with a significance of 0.000 (< 0.05) which means there is a real effect of squat jump and lunges training on increasing explosive leg muscle power. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that squat jump and lunges training are proven to be effective in increasing explosive leg muscle power which plays an important role in smash skills in the Club Oryza volleyball game.
