Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method combined with e-book-based teaching materials in improving students’ reading skills. The research subjects consisted of 27 fourth-grade students from SDIT Al-Maqom, located in Cibabat Subdistrict, North Cimahi District, Cimahi City. A mixed-methods approach with a Sequential Explanatory design was employed in this study. The research data comprised two types: quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data were collected through tests, while qualitative data were obtained using appropriate research instruments. The pretest results indicated an average score of 45.37, whereas the posttest score increased to 73.89, representing an improvement of 28.52 points. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the SAS method can assist fourth-grade students in enhancing their reading abilities.
